Mirror or hairline for lift interiors?
Mirror makes a lift cabin feel larger and more premium; hairline hides everyday marks better. Many good cabins use both.
Mirror finish
A mirror sheet reflects the cabin, so a small lift feels larger and brighter. It is the most striking choice, especially in gold, rose gold or champagne PVD. It also shows fingerprints and fine scratches most, so it suits walls above hand height, ceilings and feature panels, or a cabin with an anti-fingerprint (AFP) coating.
Hairline finish
Hairline has long, straight brushed lines along the sheet. The lines hide small scratches and marks from daily use, which makes it the practical choice for doors, lower walls and busy residential or office lifts. Keep the line direction the same on every panel so the cabin looks even.
Combining the two
A common layout is hairline on the doors and lower walls, with mirror or etched panels on the upper walls or the back wall. Bead blast and No.4 matte are also good low-glare options for a calm, modern cabin.
Practical points
- Fingerprints: consider AFP on doors and the button wall.
- Protective film: if the sheets have one, keep it on during installation and remove it once the work is finished.
- Grade: SS 304 suits humid areas and coastal cities; SS 202 is a cost-effective choice for dry indoor lifts.
- Approval: see the finish in the cabin light before you order. We send samples to approve.
