What decides the price of a designer stainless steel sheet

Designer sheets are priced on grade, thickness, finish, colour, coating, size, quantity and any processing. Knowing these helps you compare quotes fairly.

The main price factors

  • Grade: SS 304 costs more than SS 202 because it contains more nickel. It is worth it in humid, coastal or high-exposure areas.
  • Thickness: a thicker sheet uses more steel. SMN sheets run from 0.8 to 2.0 mm.
  • Finish: each finish takes different work. A mirror polish, an etched design or an embossed pattern takes more steps than a plain brushed sheet.
  • PVD colour: gold, rose gold, champagne gold and bronze are added in a separate PVD step on top of the finish.
  • Anti-fingerprint (AFP) coating: an extra coating, where offered, for surfaces people touch often.
  • Size: the standard sheet is 1220 × 2440 mm; other sizes are available on request.
  • Quantity: larger orders of the same sheet are usually priced better per sheet.
  • Processing and delivery: cutting, bending, grooving and transport to site are quoted separately.

Comparing quotes fairly

Check that every quote names the same grade, thickness, finish, colour, coating and sheet size. A lower price often means a thinner sheet or a different grade. Ask for the sheet code and a physical sample so you know exactly what you are buying.

Getting an exact price

Send us the sheets you need (codes or photos), the quantity, the thickness and the city. Drawings or a BOQ help us price processing too. We reply with a written quote.
